The HP Handhelds User Conference took place over the weekend of the 21th and 22nd of September. It included:

• Talks by HP about the future of handhelds and presentation of the handheld HP Logic Dart.
• Details of the forthcoming MetaKernel ROM card.
• Demonstrations of the I²C interface with the HP48 controlling a robot, a temperature sensor, mains lighting, and a distance sensor. The circuit diagrams and manuals are available to download above.
• Using calculators in education, particularly the HP38G.
• Talks about old HP calculators and collecting them.
• Use of STWS on the HP48.
• Use of the ALG48 library on the HP48.
• Launch of Goodies Disk 11.
